On
Sept. 21, 2001 I had the opportunity to visit the Pentagon on behalf
of the Red Cross. My purpose was to record the efforts of the Red Cross
and other volunteer organizations that provided food, shelter, clothing
and so much more to the men and women working endlessly at the site.
I was amazed to see just how many people were there, from all over the
country, volunteering their time to help in this effort. It was a very
powerful scene, how these people from all walks of life worked and lived
together at this site for weeks, never complaining and never stopping,
just working together to help where they could.
I
had my digital camera with me and asked one of the people accompanying
me to take some pictures of the site and the action going on. Unfortunately
they did not know how to operate it correctly, so most of the pictures
were blown out and unuseable. Also, misunderstanding me, they spent
most of the time taking pictures of me, which is not what I wanted.
So with those two disclaimers, here are the ones that turned out.
